From basic tent camping to luxury glamping among pine hills — Da Lat has every style of camping for all budgets and preferences.

Da Lat — Vietnam's camping paradise

With its cool climate, vast pine forests, and diverse natural landscapes, Da Lat is the most ideal camping location in Vietnam. Nighttime temperatures drop to just 12–16°C even in summer — crisp and comfortable for a night outdoors.

Types of camping

Glamping — luxury amid nature

Glamping (glamorous camping) is camping equipped with full amenities like mattresses, electricity, and private bathrooms while set directly in nature. Prices range from 500.000–2.000.000đ/night depending on location and facilities.

Traditional camping

Pitch a tent, cook outdoors, and sleep under a starry sky. Da Lat features several traditional camping spots near waterfalls and lakes. Bring a warm sleeping bag because highland nights are colder than you think.

Famous camping spots

The Tuyen Lam Lake area (Ward 7–near Truc Lam Zen Monastery) offers many beautiful campsite locations along the lake. Mong Mo Hill south of the city, flower fields near Ward 8, and the pine forest area in Tram Hanh Commune are all popular choices.

What to prepare?

A tent, sleeping bag (warmth suitable for 12–15°C), warm jacket, flashlight/LED lamp, mini gas stove if you plan to cook, and personal toiletries. Check the weather forecast beforehand — Da Lat gets sudden afternoon showers in month 5–10.

Which season is best for camping?

Month 12–4 (the dry season) is the ideal time for camping — clear skies, little rain, and plenty of daytime sunshine. Month 1–2 around Tet brings clear blue skies and beautiful mist. Avoid camping from month 6–9 due to the heavy rainy season.
