Still Cafe

Inside the cafe, the walkways are quite narrow. White wall sections. Clumps of bamboo. Yellow lighting. Simple wooden tables and chairs. Nothing overly elaborate. But that very simplicity creates a very intimate feel. People sit close to each other. A beautiful photo does not always need the most luxurious place. Just like a crowded cafe does not always need the most expensive view. What makes people remember… is usually emotions. And to me, Da Lat is still a place with many such spaces. Places where just sitting down… makes you feel like capturing a photo for yourself.” There is one thing I always find interesting about Da Lat. A lot of new cafes open every year. Prettier cafes. Wider views. More invested decor. But there are cafes that have existed for almost a decade… still packed with people every afternoon like this. Just like the cafe right behind me here. If people look from the street, it is actually not too prominent. In fact, many people passing by do not even know there is such a large space below. But just walk down a few steps… In my opinion… this cafe is crowded not because it has the best coffee in Da Lat. Nor because it has the best view in Da Lat. But because it sells something much harder. That is the sense of belonging. Many young people used to come here when they were students. Later going to work. Some left Da Lat. Some got married. But when returning to this city… they still visit the exact same familiar table as before. Because sometimes people do not return for the cup of coffee. Some simply sitting and watching the sky get dark. Da Lat now has many beautiful cafes. But the cafes that retain long-term customers usually have one thing in common. That is they create a community. People come not just to drink. But to meet people with similar interests. Same lifestyle taste. Same emotions.
