Hoàng Thiện is a solid choice for renting a motorbike to explore Da Lat with affordable prices and doorstep bike delivery service. However, you should carefully note the return time rules to avoid unwanted extra fees.
Everyone should rent here, the price is okay (scooter 100k/day, manual bike 80k/day, no hourly rentals) drop-off and pick-up on site within 15-20p and you'll have a bike, new models so you can rest assured When delivering the bike they will hold your ID card This guy specializes in bike repair so I think all rental bikes are maintained, minimizing the risk of damage 10 points 👍
If when you rent the shop has improved these issues, then congratulations, you won't encounter the same situation as me. Information besides the rental price of 100k/day that you need to know: - Bike delivery fee if renting 1 days: 50k - Only supports delivery within 3km of Da Lat city center (this is what the owner said, I will detail this issue below) - Only pick up bikes before 6g evening, after 6g you have to ride it back to the shop yourself Communication between the owner (on the hotline) and the staff delivering the bikes is not really clear. I ordered 1 AB bike, the owner confirmed but when receiving the bike I received a Vision bike, very old and scratched, the speedometer didn't even work. The shop kept my ID card but currently the law doesn't allow this. Ah, the owner said 5p arrival but the delivery staff arrived after 25 30p. Besides the speedometer not working, the bike I rode was still usable. When returning the bike, the problem continued. When calling to ask when to return the bike, my friend told the owner around 5 6g I will return it, I will call before I return it. At that time I didn't hear anything about picking up before 6g. After that I texted around the afternoon to set a return point, the owner said they didn't support coming to this point because it was too far from the city (I checked it was 5km), suggesting a closer return point, so I said ok but hadn't set a return time yet. At 5g30 a number called me saying they arrived at the close return point, so I was surprised because I hadn't confirmed what time I would return the bike. I asked if he could come to the return point far from the city (5km), the delivery guy said I just rode from there, wait for me a bit for 1. 5p later I received a call from the shop owner asking when I would return the bike. At this point I wondered how the 2 sides communicated. I presented my conversation with the delivery guy, then the owner said it was too far so they couldn't support it. 5p later the delivery guy arrived at the return point far from the city (5km). He said he had just picked up a bike from a customer there, why didn't I tell him this point to save a trip. That day it was raining in Da Lat so I also rode out to return the bike so the delivery guy could go home quickly. Hope the shop can improve communication between delivery staff and the owner to save time for both sides + fully inform costs and operating hours. Personally I will not use the shop's service again because the past experience was really not good.
I researched very carefully before renting a bike here because I traveled with 2 girls and my driving skills weren't very good. But I found the bikes here very ok, they charge by the day instead of calculating like 24h , however the bikes are new, full of accessories, Vision bike is 100k/day, I traveled for 4 days and filled up 100k worth of gas, which was comfortable to travel with. The bike runs smoothly, and if anything happens, calling the rental provider gets very helpful advice.
Not good service! Pros: - On-site bike delivery (other rental places do this too) Cons compared to other rental services: - If customers return 20p late, they charge an extra 1 day - They don't guide customers to the nearest gas station so they can easily fill up at first I've been to Da Lat many times; sometimes returning 20-30p late incurs no extra charge, sometimes leaving it at the hotel and staff come pick it up because we went to the bus station early blabla... I know this time was because we were late, but when there are so many services, customers still feel more comfortable with places that understand them; being 20p late could incur a late fee or just charge half a day extra. This is the first time I was charged an extra 1 day (renting 2 scooters adds up to quite a bit).
Bad experience, did not clearly state the pickup and return time, charged a fee even though not notified in advance, late by 30p charged half a day fee, calculated by the day not 24h, picking up the bike at 11h noon then returning at 22h30 is also 150k
